We were delighted to be invited by Glastonbury Care Home to open their new purpose built bandstand as part of a rejuvenation project of their gardens. The performance was part of a special summer fayre which was supported in considerable numbers by residents, their families, GCH staff and local people.
The new bandstand will be a focal point for residents and their families to enjoy live music and other events welcoming local people to attend, enabling residents to feel part of the wider Glastonbury community.
Over the last three months staff at GCH have given their free time and gardening skills in the redesigning of the care home grounds. A huge shout out to Facilities Manager Gary who designed and built the bandstand providing a vital legacy for live music making in the care home for many decades to come.
We believe this to be the first and only bandstand in a UK care or nursing home. Unless anyone knows otherwise?
