The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Launch Concert 

The Wells Branch of The Royal British Legion will launch their 97th Annual Poppy Appeal with a concert at Wells Town Hall on Saturday 27th October at 7.30pm

Wells City Band is delighted to be invited to help launch this year’s appeal by providing some musical entertainment comprising of popular tunes old and new.

There will be a presentation of the standards, a raffle and refreshments.

Tickets are £5 and can be purchased in person from Wells Film Centre from 1.00pm – 9.00pm daily (cash only) or on the door on the evening.

WW1 Beacons of Light

A Nation’s Tribute

A nationwide Day of Commemorative Events marking the Centenary of the end of the First World War and paying tribute to the millions killed or wounded in battle, and those on the home front who struggled amidst pain and loss to help ensure freedom survived.

The event will open at 5.30pm.  At 6.55pm the Last Post will be played on the hill in line of sight of Glastonbury Tor, with the Beacon being lit at 7.00pm.

Wells City Band are honoured to have been asked to participate in a concert that starts at 7.20pm
