For the first time in decades Wells City Band, due to requests, has decided to reintroduce a second rehearsal night of the week but with a difference to its Friday main band rehearsals.
Tuesdays nights WCB have opened the door to one-to-a-part brass chamber ensemble experience to all playing members.
Nearly 30 players have signed up and with a composer and arranger in residence the band is able to provide bespoke music for each of the WCB chamber ensembles matching players technical ability and experience.
As a bonus we were delighted to be joined by guest professional trumpet and cornet player Simon Jones at our second week of chamber ensemble rehearsals. Simon has played with among others The Royal
Shakespeare Company, CBSO, English Symphony Orchestra, Alice Cooper, The Who, The Four Tops etc and is a highly respected coach and teacher.
2027 will see WCB chamber ensembles performing as well as the main band in a busy and varied concert series.
