There has been a close link between Wells City Band and Wells City Council stretching back over 100 years with the band performing at many civic and city events every year. Performing for Mayor Making this year had a very unique feel as one of our front row cornets, Phil Dickson, also became the new town crier. Phil is also a Yeoman of the Guard at the Tower of London and has had a long career as a professional musician in the armed forces. Phil took time out to conduct a representative of the main band in the first number of the afternoon to welcome the new Mayor of Wells. Bravo Phil!
